What a week. I spent the last 9 days on the road for business and personal reasons. It started with a 6 am flight down to California where I visited my grandparents from both sides. My grandma on my mom’s side was recently in a car accident and my grandpa on my dad’s side recently had a stroke. He will be going into surgery soon and so I wanted to spend some time with everyone. We made sure to catch Monday Night Football while eating my Grandma’s meatballs which are incredible (as both Greg and Steve can attest to). I also went running on the coast of Santa Monica (I included a picture below).
So my life has been getting pretty ridiculous lately. Sorry about not getting back to everyone sooner, I’ve been traveling, swamped with getting the next issue out, and have had some other things going on.

To catch you up on where I left off, during my last post I was talking about how I visited my grandparents before my grandpa went into surgery. Since then he had his surgery, but after
surgery had a minor heart attack and had to go back in for quadruple bypass, open heart surgery. That was a Monday morning, and by Monday evening he was watching Monday Night Football. We’re still
getting through some of the hurdles but things are looking a lot better.

At about that same time I was in Hawaii for a conference, and then visited my aunt and uncle on Maui. It was my first Hawaii experience, and I was not disappointed. Below are a couple pics.

Hawaii

Once I got back from Hawaii I was in Corvallis for about 10 days before I had to head out again. One of the issues with traveling all over is not being able to work out on a regular schedule.
A buddy of mine had just run a marathon, and so I decided to get on the band wagon and start training for a marathon and so I’ve been training as I travel from conference to conference.

Over the past week I went from Portland, OR to Portland, ME, down to Los Angeles back up to Portland, OR and then out to Lansing, MI. It’s definitely been kicking my butt, with shuttles leaving at
2:45 AM, pulling all nighters and 8 hour delays in Chicago.

During one of the delays in Chicago, I saw someone who I swear I recognized. Then I realized that it was Bill Rancic, winner of last year’s “The Apprentice” with Donald Trump. I started talking
with him for a bit, and inquired about doing an interview for the mag. He gave me his publicist’s number, and we’ll see if it actually goes down. I included a picture of us below.

Bill Rancic, Apprentice Winner

The next issue should be due out in the next couple weeks, so get ready for one of our best cover stories yet.

Next week I head up to Portland for a conference, then out to Oahu, and then I get a 2 month break. Finally, I get to stay at home. Never thought I would be saying that, but after 50,000 miles in a year,
you’d be saying it too.
