I’m not exactly sure where to start, because so much has happened since I last posted. I suppose I’ll begin with the 5 nights in a row where I slept in 5 cities, 3 time zones and two countries. The trip started off speaking Columbus, OH where I was for only 24 hours. On my way to speak at a conference in Palm Springs, I missed my connection in Denver, and being spring break, Palm Springs was sold out for three days. I rushed to the LA flight leaving in ten minutes. I get to LA and my bags are lost, and all cars through Enterprise are rented out to drive to Palm Springs. Because Enterprise is the only one that rents to 21 instead of 25, I’ve got no options. Greg, my cousin and cohort in crime at brass picks me up and I sleep on his couch, waking up at 8 am to rent a car and head over to Palm Springs.

I finally get to Palm Springs, make my presentation and meet with a number of people I know at the conference, and head out the next day, March 19th to Mexico for my first vacation EVER since having started brass. March 19th is also a significant day because it marked our second anniversary since having incorporated, ironically the say day the U.S. declared war on Iraq. Weird.

America West flies me halfway to connect in Phoenix, and then says because I don’t have a paper ticket, they can’t fly me into Mexico unless I buy another ticket. I buy a ticket as the plane is boarding, which as you can imagine is outrageously priced, and head down to Mexico. My goal in life now is to ruin America West’s business for being THE WORST airline ever created. I hope they file for bankruptcy and get it over already. If I can persuade you, do not ever, ever, even if your life depends on it, even if your mother’s life depends on it, fly on America West.

Mexico was obviously a great time, although I think I got bit by a poisonous bug down there. It was the first time where I was completely disconnected from life, email, internet or phones, and it was great. I met some cool girls from Cornell, as well as this guy who is part owner and manager of a hugely popular bar/club in LA called Ivar. Check it out www.ivar.cc.

Upon the end of the week, after lots of going out, dancing, having some cervezas and an all around good time, I was excited about heading back and getting back to work. brass is entering the next stage of our business and it is time to crank it up a notch. I’m excited to be back.

I included a number of photos from the trip. While it was difficult to find some “appropriate” pictures, I think these will do. In them you can see a view from our room overlooking the hotel pool with bar at the pool, the next is a picture of our hotel from across the way, the third is from our hotel room at sunset the night before I left, the fourth is a picture of me and the guys.

Hope everyone had a great spring break.
