For all of you out there who were wondering how my skydiving trip went, the unfortunate news is that it hasn’t happened yet. I’ pretty convinced the Apocalypse is here, because it’s snowing in Oregon in mid-March and it’s cold and rainy in California. And as extreme as I may pretend to be, there is no way I’m jumping out of a plane when it’s snowing.

So instead, I went to Orlando this week for a conference where it was probably about 80 degrees or so for most of the week. Needless to say, it was pretty apparent around the pool area which attendees were from the Pacific Northwest this time of year. For the slightly slower blog readers out there, I’m referring to our lack of skin color.

On another exciting note, apparently I do in fact, have a blog following. You’d never guess, because there’s a better chance of pigs flying than all of you out there posting a comment, but I know you’re out there. Who would have guessed?

Some of the other cool parts about Orlando are the number of things to do because of all the places tied to Disney. On the last night a group of us headed out to Disney’s Pleasure Island. Pleasure Island is Disney’s theme park designed for adults 18 and older. For those of you unaware as to the cartoon linkage of Pleasure Island, it is the island in Pinocchio where all of the boys go to have fun; playing pool, smoking cigars, etc. They are then turned into donkeys while partaking in these activities and Pinocchio must escape before he turns into one. At Pleasure Island we went to a club called 8 Trax, which played 80s music and everyone in our group knew the lyrics except for me. So when the chorus came, I’d yell it out along with everyone else, and then just fade away into mumbling. One of the live bands was called Off Kilter, who was playing because it was St. Patrick’s day. The group is a pseudo rock band that uses a bagpipe while wearing kilts, and they’ve been featured on Letterman, Leno etc. Check out the Off Kilter Site.

That’s about all I’ve got for now. Later.

The past few weeks have been pretty crazy with travel. I headed down to San Francisco to speak at a conference, and as I arrived in my hotel and stepped out on the balcony, who did I see? It was none other than Governor Ahhhhnold giving a speech 11 floors down to a group of bicyclers for a race. I attached a photo from the gathering.

After San Fran it was off to DC for the biggest conference of the year. The good thing about this conference is you meet a ton of very influential people, and a lot of business gets done. The problem is, most of this business gets done after hours, until 2 or 2:30 in the morning, and you?re back at it again at 6:30 am. Little do you East Coasters realize, 6:30 am your time is actually 3:30 am my time, so in the mornings I am hating every minute of my life as I’m sitting there at breakfast. I guess it comes with the territory. Not surprisingly, a sick co-worker/roommate for the week ultimately led to my demise, and upon returning from the conference spent the better part of 3 days recovering from being sick and am now back in action.

Last but definitely not least, this next Sunday I am going to accomplish one of my 100 life goals when I go skydiving for the first time. I’m pretty stoked about it. Now I just have to work on writing a book, producing a movie and the other 99 things on the on the list. Until next week, check out this awesome Matrix Ping Pong video.
